A prepared site helps your delivery go smoothly. Use this planning checklist with your contractor and the agreed delivery method.
Confirm the intended use
Decide whether the unit is for storage, work, living, refrigeration or another purpose. Confirm the relevant local approvals, foundation design and utility arrangements for that use before scheduling delivery.
Measure the access route
Share gate openings, road widths, turning areas and the distance from the entrance to the placement area. Note low wires, branches, steep gradients, bridges, soft ground and any vehicle restrictions.
Prepare the placement area
Arrange a suitable level and load-bearing base for the unit and site conditions. Ask your contractor to confirm support points, drainage and clearances. Northern’s product listing does not substitute for a site-specific foundation design.
Agree on unloading
Confirm whether the quoted service uses a tilt-bed vehicle, crane, forklift or another method. Establish who supplies lifting equipment, qualified operators, access permissions and any traffic management.
Plan utilities and installation
For homes, offices, pools, saunas and refrigerated containers, confirm electrical capacity, water supply, drainage and specialist connections. Ensure those tasks are included in your contractor’s scope or explicitly in your quote.
Prepare the receiving checklist
Have your order reference, delivery contact and camera available. Clear the unloading area and keep people away from the lifting zone. Inspect identity, quantity and visible condition with the carrier before the equipment is installed.
